Facebook is now telling users that its users who have been compromised in the attack could be getting their personal information from Facebook’s servers.

The social media giant is releasing the update Friday in response to reports of compromised accounts on social media platforms.

Facebook’s update says Facebook servers have been infected with malicious software that is likely from a state-sponsored actor, but does not give any further details about how the malware came to be.

The Facebook update comes a week after the company told users that a large number of users had been hacked.

That attack resulted in a massive breach of Facebook’s network, and exposed more than 12 million user accounts.
